7. 5 March 2012The 2050 Airport Project - Workshop7 The Time-Efficient Airport Time-Efficient airport concept: Objective to maximise value through efficient and effective air transport operations. Seamless flow through air transport system The airport is the pivotal part, where passenger, baggage, cargo and aircraft come together. The passenger to depart and arrive from/to his or her point of origin without disruption. The total journey time significantly shortened.

8. 5 March 2012The 2050 Airport Project - Workshop8 The Ultra-Green Airport Ultra-Green airport concept: Objective to make airport self sufficient regarding its energy needs. Airport to operate in a climate neutral way. Airport to limit noise exposure to municipalities surrounding the airport. Airport facilitates aircraft- ground-passenger interface directly coupled to a multi-modal infrastructure.

Investment of building a complete airport should be cost-efficient in order to minimise depreciation. Non-performance costs are minimised due to a perfect and robust execution of the schedule.

10. 5 March 2012The 2050 Airport Project - Workshop10 Achievements of Interest Far-future Airport concepts, 2050:  3 concepts:  Not necessarily excessive in expansion and eye-catchers, but focus on being competitive, environmental friendly, safe, and service- attractive  4 Airports of direct interest:  2 hub airports, i.e. Frankfurt, Schiphol  2 small to medium-size airports, i.e. Kaunas and Tårgu-Mures  The needs of Europe (Eurocontrol’s PRR-2010):  12 hub airports and highly congested large airports  30 major and possibly expanding airports in Europe  130 small to medium-size airports with commercial interest  Our objective to provide benefits to:  New airports, and  Existing and expanding airports Our challenge to evaluate what is the “real” interest for Europe
