3. THE MODERN BILL OF RIGHTS Is there anything that you think should be altered within the Bill of rights to fit modern times? It was produced over 200 years ago. What might you alter? ex: 2 nd amendment, police and military have weapons therefore citizens have no reason to have them.

4. ADDITION TO OUR RIGHTS With a focus on the rights of the people from government: 3 rd Amendment: Forbids peacetime quartering of soldiers in domestic homes. Posse Comitatus Act of 1878: Forbids the federal government from employing military personnel to enforce U.S. domestic law The National Security Act of 1947: Prohibits intelligence agencies from targeting American citizens. This established the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), explicitly prohibited the agency from having “police, subpoena, law enforcement powers, or internal security functions” Post-Watergate reforms: required special court authorizations for surveillance of U.S. citizens

Can both of these be accomplished at the same time?
