4 3 Helwan University Established 1975, known as University of technology. Fine and Applied Arts, Art and Music Education. Social and family faculties Social Sciences and Home Economics. Science related health faculties; Nursing, Pharmacy, Science, Physical Education. Tourism and Hotel Management and Industrial Education.

5 4 Helwan University TACT Team Most are Managers of QAU or Co-workers. Ongoing cooperation with Cairo University. The biggest participation in FP7 (6 proposals). Ongoing European research. Young Staff. PhD; Britain, Germany, Russia and USA. For first time student assessment project in Art Faculties (that will apply to other faculties).

7 6 Target Group & Beneficiaries  Students, University staff, stakeholders and society.  The project will focus first on the four art faculties; Fine and Applied Arts, Music Education and Home Economics (Clothing Dep.).  After successful outcomes the project will be applied to two science faculties (Science and Computers and Information) and two theoretical (Law and Arts).

11 10 Needs Analysis  There is neither database of assessment of students nor updated methods of examinations.  Exam papers accessed On-line for students.  Database about stakeholders’ opinions on methods of assessment of students.

12 11 Need Analysis   The culture of changing student assessment methods among teaching staff.   There is no such scheme for students to cope with exam stress.   There is no student feedback Online or paper form after students complete examinations.

13 12 Need Analysis   There is no cooperation with international universities to develop methods of assessment of students.   No external evaluator is available.   There is no integrated project within HU faculties neither nationally nor internationally.

14 13 TIME TO ACT TACT is in an urgent need to be applied in Helwan University in order to improve the quality of student assessment and exams and increase the competitiveness of students in labour market in order to reach to international standards that the Higher Education Ministry strategy aims for.

15 14 TACT will advance to achieve high standards of student assessment and exams with high calibre education system capable of equipping students with the necessary intellectual and social skills, and a foundation of knowledge upon which to construct a successful career. TACT VISION

16 15 Development of Students’ Assessment Systems Project (DSASP) Strategic Objective: Improving students’ assessment systems in the higher education institutes to achieve the (ILOs) of the academic programmes; complying with the academic standards as an accreditation requirement.

17 16 Specific Objectives Establish students’ assessment standards and criteria in the various academic programmes. Supporting the educational institutes to ensure accuracy, speed and transparency as well as undergoing continuous evaluation for the assessment methods applied.
