2 What is RISE? The Representatives of Interfraternal Social Education RISE focuses on peer education, and risk management. RISE is made up only of your Greek peers.

3 What is FIPG? The Fraternal Information and Programming Group (FIPG) As Greek life became more popular there was an increase in social activities amongst chapters, leading to an increase in risk. FIPG lowers fraternity insurance.

4 Do’s Have a list of all guests (full name and birthday) Respect authority Hold all chapter members and guests accountable Keep all chapter members and guests in a designated function area

5 Do’s Register all functions, wet and dry, through Boiler Link Have security postings on the walls (containing exec phone number/name, BYOB, function time, co- register, date, security names, sober number – optional) Designate sober monitors

6 Sober Monitors Sober Executive Responsible for: Hosting RISE upon their arrival Ensuring members are present for sober patrol Two door representatives – Two men that work at the door Responsible for: Checking ID’s, wristbands or X’s Manage member list for the function

7 Sober Monitors Two sober patrol – Remain in the function area to monitor the behavior of members and guests One bartender per bar Responsible for: Implementing ticket/bracelet system Distributing guests beer and/or wine coolers

8 Dont’s Using chapter funds to purchase alcohol Point of mass distribution Binge drinking Open parties

9 Dont’s Serving to minors Drugs Selling alcohol/distributing alcohol Alcohol at philanthropies or any recruitment/rush event Glass in function area

10 Fun Facts Greek chapters (#3) are more risky to insure than a nuclear power plant. 850, 000 hours are volunteered by Greeks annually. Over $7 million is raised each year by Greeks nationally.

11 General Information BYOB: 4x12 oz. wine, 6x12 oz. beer. Chapter event is anything an outside observer would consider to be one.

17 Function Walk-Through Risk escorts RISE out RISE completes form and it is emailed to Risk Manager and IFC Risk Manager If function fails observation, IFC/Panhel are alerted and will handle the situation (RISE is purely observational)
