In this series of slides we will walk through an overview of the integration and illustrate a Sage CRM MailChimp campaign driven through the Sage CRM user interface. This integration makes it easy to create, send, and track email marketing campaigns. The results from the campaign are shown within Sage CRM and you can see how many people opened the email and exactly what they clicked. Campaigns are not restricted to email – you can track any sort of marketing activity and measure ROI.

2 www.prior-analytics.com Company LOGO Integration Features The integration allows users to: Push their Sage CRM contacts into MailChimp. Quickly and easily create new targeted email marketing campaigns in Sage CRM. Send the campaign and automatically add a communication record to the relevant records in Sage CRM.

4 www.prior-analytics.com Company LOGO Integration Features cont… View a list of sent MailChimp campaigns in Sage CRM and gain valuable insight into the results - opens, clicks, bounces and more. Segment lists and create groups based on responses for future campaigns. Setting up the actual integration is a straightforward process. You can assign which users are allowed to use the integration and authorised users are the only ones that will see it in their ‘My CRM’ area.

6 www.prior-analytics.com Company LOGO Static Group Example In integrated systems, users with rights to use the MailChimp feature will see a button on the group page called 'Send to MailChimp'.

7 www.prior-analytics.com Company LOGO Static Group Example Clicking that button will send the Sage CRM group to MailChimp where it will be added as a segment to the list that was used in the original configuration of the integration. Once we have done that we can create the MailChimp Campaign in Sage CRM and send it to MailChimp.

8 www.prior-analytics.com Company LOGO Creating the Sage CRM Campaign and Sending it to MailChimp A user who is authorised to use the MailChimp features will find the MailChimp campaign option under the 'My CRM' menu.

9 www.prior-analytics.com Company LOGO Creating the Sage CRM Campaign and Sending it to MailChimp cont…. Just clicking 'New' will allow the user to define a campaign. A campaign consists of a name that is linked to a MailChimp list segment that contains the contacts (subscribers) that were added to MailChimp when the group was sent from Sage CRM. A Campaign needs to also have the name and email address of the sender. Once that is done it can be saved by clicking the 'Create Campaign' button and this will cause another browser tab to be opened that starts defining the campaign in MailChimp. You will need to make sure that pop-ups are allowed.

It is a good idea to personalise the 'To:' field with the merge tags. You can learn more about merge tags in MailChimp here: http://mailchimp.com/features/merge-tags/ http://mailchimp.com/features/merge-tags/ The fields sent from Sage CRM to MailChimp depends on context and the underlying view used for the group definition. For example… Company (from the view) Company Name (comp_name) Default Person Email (pers_emailaddress) or Default Company Address (comp_emailaddress)

11 www.prior-analytics.com Company LOGO Creating the template Once you have selected your template and finished changing the design (from within your MailChimp account) you will be ready to send the campaign.

12 www.prior-analytics.com Company LOGO Sending the campaign MailChimp is good at providing you with a prompt to confirm that the email campaign should be started. It is also clear about when it has been done!

13 www.prior-analytics.com Company LOGO Types of results and reports that are returned from MailChimp into CRM Within Sage CRM there is a scheduled job that retrieves the results of the campaign from the MailChimp server. This job is scheduled by default to run every hour.

There is also an additional full synchronisation that runs every 24 hours that fetches data such as opt outs. The report that we see within Sage CRM is a summary of the information displayed within the MailChimp screens.

15 www.prior-analytics.com Company LOGO Types of results and reports that are returned from MailChimp into CRM If you want to know more about your subscribers and where they and how they interacted with your email you can always see this within the MailChimp interface. Here you can see where my correspondents were who opened the emails. Within the Sage CRM screens you can see all of the key information about a campaign. You can see how many people have opened the email, who clicked links within the message, bounces and unsubscribes.

You can see how many people have opened the email, who clicked links within the message and how many subscribers bounced and which people chose to unsubscribe. Each of the main totals are hyperlinks that can be followed to reveal the names of those contacts in Sage CRM who have interacted with the message you sent.

This group in turn can be saved and then sent to MailChimp to create a segment that targets those subscribers who are most likely to take the action that you desire.

Campaigns consist of waves, which are made up of wave activities. Waves are a way of grouping activities within a campaign. Wave Activities allow you to define specific actions done within a wave of the campaign..

Enter name, start & end dates, status, budget (optional), and click save. Click New Wave. Enter name, start & end dates, status, budget (optional), and click save. Click New Wave Activity. Enter name, type, details, start & end dates, group, budget (optional), cost (optional) and click save. Activate Marketing Campaign

This statistic is now captured and viewable. Go to the Marketing Campaign Reports and view the results.
