Who is Morgan Freeman?

First, let’s not get him confused with Gordan Freeman from Half Life.

Or Morgan J. Freeman, whom is a completely different person.

This is Morgan Freeman. To give it a quick summary: Morgan Freeman is a famous actor, director and narrator. Obviously every one can remember his well known narrator voice. For crying out loud, the dude narrates almost every single space documentary ever. Either way, this is going to explain a lot about this famous actor/director/narrator.

Morgan Freeman was born in Memphis, Tenessee on June 1 st, 1937. His mother was Mayme Edne whom was a teacher and his father was was Morgan Porterfield Freeman whom was a barber and his dad died on April 27, 1961, from a disease known as cirrhosis (A chronic liver disease). He moved from Memphis to Charleston, Mississippi; Gary, Indiana; and finally Chicago, Illinois.

His first credited film appearance was in 1971’s “Who Says I Can’t Ride A Rainbow?” Freeman first became known in the American media through open roles on the soap opera “Another World” and the PBS kids’ show “The Electric Company”.

After three previous nominations: a supporting actor nomination for “Street Smart”, and leading actor nominations for “Driving Miss Daisy” and “The Shawshank Redemption”; he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in “Million Dollar Baby” at the 77 th Academy Awards.

Freeman appeared as God in the hit film “Bruce Almighty” and it’s sequel, “Evan Almight”, as well as Lucius Fox in the critical and commercial success Batman Begins and it’s many sequels, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. He also starred in Rob Reiner’s 2007 film “The Bucket List”.

In all of his other work, on July 2009 he was one of the presenters at the 46664 concert which was to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s birthday. This concert was held at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Freeman was the first American to record a par on Legend Golf & Safari Resort’s Extreme 19 th hole (See top picture). When Freeman was 65 he earned his private pilot’s license. He owns or has owned at least 3 private aircraft consisting of a Cessna Citation 501 jet, a Cessna 414 twin-engine prop and an Emivest SJ30 long-range private jet and he is certified to fly all of them.

In his family he was first married to Jeanette Adair Bradshaw and this marriage lasted from October 22, 1967 up until 1979. He married Myrna Colley-Lee on June 16, 1984. The couple seperated in December 2007. Freeman and Colley-Lee had adopted Freeman’s step-granddaughter from his first marriage and together helped to raise her.

Freeman currently lives in Charleston, Mississippi, and (somehow) New York City. He co-owns and operates Madidi, a fine dining restraunt, and Ground Zero which is a blues club. Both of these places are located in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

On the night of August 3, 2008, Freeman was injured in a car crash near Ruleville, Mississippi. The car that he was driving left the highway and flipped over several times. He and a female passenger, Demaris Meyer, were rescued from the car using what is called the “Jaws Of Life”. Police ruled out alchohol as the cause of the crash. Freement was coherent after the crash, even joking about a photographer taking his picture at the scene. His left shoulder, arm and elbow were broken in the crash and he had surgery on them on August 5, 2008.

That’s everything important about Morgan Freeman. To sum it up: he was an extremely well known actor and had a very well lived life. Thanks for reading all of the information! (You better of, took me two days to research it all)
