2 THE NORUP PYP EXHIBITION Students in their final year of the PYP (IB Primary Years Program) participate in an extended, collaborative inquiry project under guidance from their teacher.

3 The Exhibition is a significant event for students and for Norup
The Exhibition is a significant event for students and for Norup. It synthesizes all elements of the IB Primary Years Programme and allows students to share them creatively with the whole school community.

4 The Exhibition is also an opportunity to demonstrate attributes of the IB learner profile that students have been developing throughout their engagement in the PYP.

5 PYP Transdisciplinary Themes Provide the opportunity to incorporate local and global issues into the curriculum and effectively allow students to “step up” beyond the confines of learning within subject areas Sharing the Planet Where We Are in Place and Time How the World Works Who We Are How We Organize Ourselves How We Express Ourselves

6 The students will: Use the central idea in their project
Choose 3 PYP Key Concepts Form, Function, Causation, Reflection, Responsibility, Change, Perspective, Connection Create lines of inquiry that they will answer through their research and during their Exhibition presentation Think about the information they find... Examine it, analyze it, make connections, wonder about it, consider different points of view

7 The Process... Students will choose an issue.
Students will work in small groups, based on interests, with students in their homeroom class.

8 Presenting the Message
Students will choose an appropriate way to communicate their learning and present their information in a clear and creative way.

9 The Product The product may be....
skits, posters, videos, dances, songs, movies, PowerPoints, Prezis....anything that communicates the learning and understanding effectively and creatively

10 Who Will Help? Mr. Greer, Ms. Karas, and Mrs. Ruple
Experts will be solicited as sources during the research process. They can be community members, parents, or staff members. Teachers may solicit mentors for their students on an as needed basis. Parents will help by supporting and encouraging their children at home.

11 How will we assess? We will assess the process as well as the product.
The students will have an opportunity to reflect on: Their progress in constructing an understanding of their chosen subject matter Their focus on the central idea, key concepts and lines of inquiry Their demonstration of Learner Profile attributes throughout the process
