Thank you. If you are visiting with us today would you please fill out a Welcome Card and leave it on the seat beside you to be collected following our services? Thank you. Our prayer as we gather today is that as we worship the Lord together we will all draw closer to Him and to one another. Our prayer as we gather today is that as we worship the Lord together we will all draw closer to Him and to one another.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 – 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

John 14:9 – 9 Jesus replied, "Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don't know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you? Holy Bible, New Living Translation.

Hebrews 4:12-13 – 12 God's word is living and active. It is sharper than any two-edged sword and cuts as deep as the place where soul and spirit meet, the place where joints and marrow meet. God's word judges a person's thoughts and intentions.

Matthew 24:35 – 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. NIV

Proverbs 4:20-22 – 20 My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. 22 For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh. ESV

Psalms 119:105 – Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. NIV

John 12:48-50 – 48 There is a judge for those who refuse to believe in me and do not accept my words. The word I have taught will be their judge on the last day. 49 The things I taught were not from myself. The Father who sent me told me what to say and what to teach. 50 And I know that eternal life comes from what the Father commands. So whatever I say is what the Father told me to say."

Acts 20:7 - 7 On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, NASU 1 Corinthians 16:1-2 - Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of Galatia, so do you also. 2 On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that no collections be made when I come. NASU

1 Corinthians 11:23-29 - 23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me." 25 In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes. 27 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. 28 But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly.

TO REMEMBER 1 Corinthians 11:23-25 – (NIV) The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me".

For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed (1 Corinthians 5:7, NIV).

We remember that Jesus was God in the flesh John 1:1-3 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

John 1:14 – 14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

1 Timothy 2:5- 5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, New American Standard Updated Version

John 14:6 - 6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. NASU Acts 4:12 - Jesus is the only One who can save people. His name is the only power in the world that has been given to save people. We must be saved through him." NCV

Acts 4:12 (NASB) "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."

WE REJOICE 1 Corinthians 11:26 NIV For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. 1 Corinthians 5:8 (NASB) Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

“proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”

“He is risen/He is risen indeed,” Hebrews 9:27-28 - 27 And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, 28 so also Christ died once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. Holy Bible, New Living Translation.

1 Corinthians 16:22 – He writes “Maranatha” – O Lord, come.

TO REPENT Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup (1 Corinthians 11:27-28, NIV).

Matthew 16:25-27 – 26 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?

TO RECONCILE For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself (1 Corinthians 11:29, NIV).

“It may mean that the man who eats and drinks unworthily [does so] with no reverence and no sense of the [importance] or... obligation” of his act. “It may also mean this. The phrase the body of Christ again and again stands for the Church.... So this may mean that he eats and drinks unworthily who has never realized that the whole Church is the body of Christ but is at variance with his brother. Every man in whose heart there is hatred, bitterness, contempt against his brother... as he comes to the Table of our Lord, eats and drinks unworthily.

“So then to eat and drink unworthily is to do so with no sense of the greatness of the thing we do, and to do so while we are at variance with the brother for whom Christ also died.”

Matthew 5:22-24 - 23 Therefore if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering. NASU 1 John 4:20-21 - 20 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also. NASU

AS WE TAKE THE SUPPER WE DO SO TO RECONCILE – with God and with those around us.

To Remember To Rejoice To Repent To Reconcile
