2. WHAT IS A TRUMPET?
A trumpet is an in instrument that is made up of many tubes, which you blow through to make sound. It looks like a long tube with three buttons which are pressed to change the sound The trumpet is basically a long tube that you blow through. This instrument takes a high place in the bass family. Trumpets stand among the oldest instruments, dated back to 1500 BC. This instrument can play high notes and low notes. Since the late 15th century they have been of made from a brass tube, normally bent twice into a rounded oblong shape. Before then they were made in all sorts of ways.

3. Parts of a trumpet.
The first part of a trumpet is the mouth piece. This is the part where the player places his lips and blows into. Mouthpieces are made in different sizes and different materials such as brass. Next you have the lead pipe, which is the tube from the mouthpiece to the tuning slide. The part of the trumpet which can be pulled or push to adjust. Then we have the three buttons that change the pitch of the trumpet.
The bell is where the sound comes out of. Mostly made of brass and can either be lacquered in gold, which produces a more mellow sound, and silver-plated, which produces a brighter sound. The size of the bell, also known as the flare, affects its sound. Smaller bell flares sound sharper while bigger flares sound mellower. Higher-end trumpets uses tuning bells which are can be removed. The musician can modify the sound by adjusting the tuning bell.
A finger hook allows the other hand of the player to be free and complete other musical tasks. when you blow into a trumpet's mouthpiece, the pistons redirects the air path into different slides. There are three pistons: the first one is the one closest to you, the second is in the middle and the third is the farthest. These three pistons aren't swappable, so you should take note of their proper positions when arranging them in a line.

The earliest trumpets were made from hollowed out animal horns and sea shells. Unlike the modern trumpet, primitive trumpets did not have a mouthpiece and bell. The first trumpets were more like megaphones than musical instruments. They had uses in religious ceremonies, rituals, communication, and warfare. Early trumpets were used for the following: To twist someone's voice to frighten the enemy, to encourage warriors on the battle field, to lead military exercises, magical rituals, burials sunset ceremonies (to make sure that the sun would rise in the morning), ward off evil spirits , signal to the Gods. Trumpets were viewed as a “man’s instrument”. Women were not allowed to have contact with the instrument. In some Amazon tribes, women were actually KILLED if they touched a trumpet!

6. How its played.
The sound that we hear from a trumpet is the sound waves made by the vibration of “buzzing” into the mouth piece. The player can change the pitch either by pressing down the valves or changing the lip opening or pressure, which is called the "embouchure". Playing in the highest register of the trumpet is a strength that grown over time. The large amount of air and pressure required to play in the high registers produces a strain on the embouchure which can actually become painful if forced. Brass reacts to heat and cold which causes the trumpet to become out of tune in temperature changes. Cold causes the piping to contract while heat expands it. The tuning slide compensates for problem by changing the pitch slightly.
