4 The Woodwind Family  The Woodwind family is made up of flutes, clarinets, oboes, bassoons, and saxophones.

6 Clarinet  The clarinet is played by pressing on keys with the players fingers.  A reed, which is on the mouthpiece, is used to produce sound.

8 Bassoon  The bassoon is the lowest sounding instrument in the woodwind family.  It also has a double reed like the oboe.

12 French Horn  The french horn has the biggest range of all the brass instruments.  The player’s left hand presses on the valves, and the right hand is placed inside the bell.
