SayPhone 21 Advanced Dispersed Alarm Unit

Features – Digital quality audio speech and messages Voice message recording Two line LCD display Integral programming facilities New European 169 MHz radio frequency 48 hour standby battery Activity and Intruder features Telecare enabled Full range of Telecare Sensors Integral 12 month system & alarm log Integral High Speed Modem for data access SayPhone 21

Digital quality audio speech and messages Voice message recording Digital Speech Processing (DSP) ensures maximum clarity. Speech status messages simplify user feedback. 5 Volume levels to suit user needs. Recordable messages for personal carers use. SayPhone 21

Two Line LCD display Gives user clear feedback of status Gives managers clear feedback during programming Show current date and time Allows simple user alarm and reminder functions SayPhone 21

Integral programming facility Front panel switches allow local programming. No need for special tools or live telephone line. Up to EIGHT telephone numbers SayPhone 21

New European 169 MHz radio frequency. Complies with ECC/DEC/(05)02 EN300 220-1 Class 1 Improved range over other frequencies. Automatic sensor registration using BS7369 alarm codes SayPhone 21

48 hour standby battery 5 Year battery warranty. Daily full load battery condition test. External battery cover for easy replacement. (Uses standard NiMH rechargeable AA cells) Random mains fail reporting delay. SayPhone 21

Activity and Intruder features Three activity monitoring time periods each day. Simple AWAY MODE operation to minimise false calls. 30 second Intruder Mode EXIT timer Uses standard PIR detectors Silent dial out for intruder mode SayPhone 21

Full range of Telecare Sensors SayPhone 21

Integral 12 month system & alarm log. Stores all data locally for instant recall. Allows activity data to be stored without expensive dial outs. Allows instant data checking for improved integrity. Non Volatile memory for storage when no power. SayPhone 21

Integral High Speed Modem for data access Allows access to Telecare data from any PC with Modem. Ensures data is always up to date. Reduces dependency on central control. SayPhone 21

SayPhone 21 and Telecare data Why do we need to consider the means of data delivery? SayPhone 21

In England & Wales 10M people over the age of 60 years 300,000 people over the age of 90 years

Why do we need to consider the means of data delivery? Because the rapid growth in the use of Telecare sensors will produce an increased amount of data that will be used by a growing number of caring agencies SayPhone 21

Why do we need to consider the means of data delivery? Because the rapid growth in the use of Telecare sensors will produce an increased amount of data that will be used by a growing number of caring agencies People who use data now expect to have the data available instantaneously from wherever they might be working. SayPhone 21

Because the rapid growth in the use of Telecare sensors will produce an increased amount of data that will be used by a growing number of caring agencies People who use data now expect to have the data available instantaneously from wherever they might be working. At their work desk, at their home, on the move SayPhone 21

Traditional social alarm systems generate an alarm call which is answered by an Onsite Warden or a Central Control facility. PSTN CENTRAL CONTROL DISERSED ALARM GROUED SCHEME WARDEN SayPhone 21

Traditional social alarm systems generate an alarm call which which answered by an Onsite Warden or a Central Control facility. PSTN CENTRAL CONTROL DISERSED ALARM GROUED SCHEME WARDEN No direct access to call data by other agencies SayPhone 21

Traditional social alarm systems generated an alarm call which was answered by an Onsite Warden or a Central Control facility. Modern Telecare sensors generate more than simple alarm signals The additional signals do not always require a alarm response SayPhone 21

Traditional social alarm systems generated an alarm call which was answered by an Onsite Warden or a Central Control facility. Modern Telecare sensors generate more than simple alarm signals The additional signals do not require an alarm response and do not require multiple dial out calls. Look at two examples - SayPhone 21

Telecare Sensors Combination Sensors Fall Detector -Signal Genuine Fall (This is all competitor products do) SayPhone 21

Telecare Sensors Combination Sensors Fall Detector -Signal Genuine Fall (Alarm) Signal Auto or Manual Reset if restore detected Signal angular acceleration but No Impact Signal impact but no angular acceleration Integral Memory feature for storing data Data also stored in control unit SayPhone 21

Telecare Sensors Combination Sensors Bed Occupancy – Signals alarm on failure to return to bed Competitors use simple pressure switch Use of the Internet in Telecare Data Delivery SayPhone 21

Telecare Sensors Combination Sensors Bed Occupancy – 5 x Analogue Sensors Auto Calibrates for user weight Digital Clock for Alarm Timing Signals out and return to bed Activates bedroom light Signals local carer alert Signals failure to return to bed Use of the Internet in Telecare Data Delivery SayPhone 21

Delivery of Telecare data is required for Grouped Schemes and Dispersed Alarm The installation of an ADSL (Broadband) connection to a grouped scheme is financially viable. The installation of an ADSL connection for an individual resident is cost prohibitive at present. (May change with BT 21CN roll-out) A high speed modem is the only solution for data retrieval from a Dispersed Alarm. SayPhone 21

Delivery of Telecare data is required for Grouped Schemes and Dispersed Alarm Although the communication technology is different, the compatibility between grouped and dispersed alarms is maintained by using a common data format. The data is received in standard Comma Separated Data (CSD) Format and can be used by any industry standard spreadsheet. SayPhone 21
