2 o Her weight: 46,328 Gross tons o Her Length: 882.5 Feet Long o Her width: 92.5 Feet Wide o Her Top Speed: 24 – 25 Knots o 11 Stories High, 4 city Blocks Long o Her Passenger capacity: 3000 people 1 First class ticket cost $4,700. Today that ticket would cost $60,000.

3 o April 10, 1912: Passengers arrived in Southampton and began boarding the ship. o April 11: Titanic reached Queenstown, Ireland o April 12 & 13: The Titanic sailed through calm waters.

4 o April 14 & 15, 1912: Throughout the day seven iceberg warnings were received. Lookout Frederick Fleet spotted an iceberg ahead. The Iceberg struck the Titanic on the Starboard (Right) side of her bow. o The captain was told that the ship could only stay floating for a couple of hours. He gave the order to call for help over the radio. The orders were given to uncover the lifeboats and to get passengers and crew ready on deck.

5 o The Carpathian finally arrived in New York on April, 18 1912 o American Enquiry into the disaster was held April 19- May 15, 1912 -investigations were held

6 o There were 2,228 people on board the Titanic, 337 in first class, 285 second class, 721 in third class and 885 crew members. o The construction of the Titanic was handled by Harland and Wolff. o The cost of building the RMS Titanic was $7,500,000. o 160 minutes- the time it took Titanic to sink after hit with ice berg o 15 minutes- the approximate time that the ship took to reach the ocean floor. o 10 mph- the speed at which the Titanic sank to the bottom of the ocean. o The temperature of the sea was -2 degrees. Bbbrrrr!! o Life expectancy of victims in water was 15 to 45 minutes.
