1 ABC book Revolutionary War By: Destin Hardesty

2 A is for America America is a free country. It consists of 50 states. America is the 4 th largest country.

3 B is for Boston Tea Party The Boston Tea Party was one of many events leading up to the American Revolutionary War. This was when colonists dressed up as Native Americans and threw Britain’s tea into the ocean. This ended up not leading to what the colonists thought.

4 C is for Common Sense Common Sense is a document that changed America's history for the good. This document was written by Thomas Paine.

5 D is for the Declaration of Independence The Declaration of Independence was a document that set out rules and regulations for the colonists. This was signed by many important people. Including, John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams.

6 E is for Enlist Many colonists were enlisted into America's armed forces. Enlist means to enroll into the armed forces. This word was used many times especially for colonists and the Britain army.

7 F is for French and Indian war The French and Indian war lasted seven years. This war was also known as the seven years war. It was fought between Britain and the Native Americans. The British ended up winning this long lasting war.

8 G is for guns In the Revolutionary War many types of guns were used. For example the musket, rifle, etc. The British army and the colonists used different types of guns and weapons.

9 H is for Patrick Henry Patrick Henry was one of our founding fathers. He was the governor for Virginia twice. He is best known for saying “Give me Liberty, or give me death!”

10 I is for Intolerable Acts The intolerable acts was a series of laws set after the Boston Tea Party. These acts ended up in a outrage from the colonists. One of the laws was that Massachusetts could not have a self government.

11 J is for John Adams John Adams was one of many founding fathers. He was our first Vice president and our second president. John Adams was very against slavery and never once during his life owned a slave.

12 K is for King George the third King George the third was the king of great Britain during these events. He was the king that forced war upon the colonists, but also forced his own army too. He ended up losing this epic war.

13 L is for the battle of Lexington and Concord These were the very first fights of the American revolutionary war. These fights were on April 19, 1775. These battles were fought in the cities of Lexington, Concord, Lincoln, Menotomy, and Cambridge.

14 M is for the Boston Massacre The Boston Massacre was also known as the incident on King Street. This fight broke out on March 5, 1770. It killed 5 people, and injured 6 people.

15 N is for the Navigation Acts The Navigation acts was laws that were put on the transportation of goods between Britain and the colonies. It did not let them transport goods to the Netherlands, Spain, France, and their colonies. These laws began in 1651 and lasted for 200 years.

16 O is for the Sons of Liberty The sons of liberty was created to keep America's rights. They took over the Boston Tea Party. There quote was “No taxation without representation.”

17 P is for Paul Revere Paul Revere was a silversmith in 1775- 1818. He is famous for telling the colonial army that the British Army was coming. He alerted them in the battles of Lexington and Concord.

18 Q is for the battle of Quebec The battle of Quebec was fought on Sunday December 31, 1775. This was fought in the province of Quebec. The American army was looking to capture the province.

19 R is for the Red Coats The British Army were also known as the Red Coats. They were called the red coats because there uniforms were bright red. These uniforms ended up being a disadvantage to the British Army.

20 S is for Samuel Adams Samuel Adams was the guy that coordinated the Boston Tea Party. He thought that he was showing Britain what they were doing to us. He was the 4 th governor of Massachusetts.

21 T is for Thomas Paine Thomas Paine was the writer of “Common Sense.” He inspired them to declare their independence between Great Britain. His ideas made American History

22 U is for the U.S. Constitution The US constitution is the outline of America’s laws. If you do not follow the constitution you will have consequences. The constitution was created by the continental congress.

23 V is for Valley Forge Valley Forge is located in Pennsylvania. This is where the American Army trained. Many people died at this site.

24 W is for George Washington George Washington was the first president of the United States of America. He was the commander in chief of the revolutionary war. He also was one of the people that helped draft the Constitution.

25 X is for Xavier Cathedral Xavier Cathedral is located in Vincennes, Indiana. This is also known as the Old cathedral. This was a center for trading.

26 Y is for Yorktown There was a battle at Yorktown. This battle fought out till October 19, 1781. Yorktown is located in Yorktown Virginia.

27 Z is for John Peter Zenger John Peter Zenger was a journalist, printer, publisher, and editor. He was an important part of the American revolution because he defended and American case. This case is known as the Zenger trial.
