2 What is WISHRM? State Association, affiliated with SHRM – also called “State Council” Members of affiliated chapters are members of WISHRM Volunteers in specific roles plus the Chapter Presidents make up the State Council leadership Chapter Presidents attend State Council meetings or send substitute 2

9 What does WISHRM do? (continues) Provide a connection to SHRM people and resources Deliver feedback, ideas, concerns, requests from local chapter members and chapter leaders to SHRM

10 10 Connecting you to SHRM We are in SHRM’s North Central Region Each region has dedicated staff who are the liaisons between SHRM and the members in the region –Assist potential chapters in becoming affiliated –Assist individual members with questions about membership –Assist chapters with any issues facing the leadership team –Attend state council and regional council meetings as a resource –Participate in state conferences as an exhibitor –Act as a speaker –Assist in the recruitment and retention of members

11 11 Role of Regional Teams Field Services Director – Nancy Conway Main point of contact for State Councils, Chapter Presidents and other chapter volunteers in their respective states/territories Communicate and promote SHRM vision and strategic objectives Ensure that chapters maintain affiliation standards Regional Administrator – Kristine Hoffmann Main point of contact for supplies, member lists, audits, checks, and general questions Acts as administrator for regional team

12 Remember to do your SHAPE Plan and CLIF form The SHAPE Plan is an annual report that your Board makes to SHRM about activities of the chapter To remain affiliated, you need to submit one The deadline for submitting your chapter’s SHAPE Plan is January 31 of each year to reflect activity in the previous year The Chapter Leader Information Form is due on the 15 th day of the month prior to the start of your new officer terms

Affiliation Standards Maintained/SHAPE/CLIF WI Chapter Membership list request – up to 2 times per year from Morgan Data Council Meeting participation requirements for Chapters – 80% (includes DD meeting) Participation in Social Media Outreach/Join Blog Updated Contact information and programs on chapter website linked to www.wshrm.org Membership Initiative for 2014 Promotion of attendance at conferences - Student Games, State and Legislative Conference
