3 © 2010 Tyler Technologies, Inc. Version 9.1 and 8.3 This presentation provides an overview of the major System Administration enhancements for Munis Version 9.1 and 8.3. Most of the enhancements are available in Version 9.1 only unless otherwise specified. If your organization uses the Tyler Dashboard, Munis Version 9.1 is available in a Web-based interface called GWC-SL. The GWC-SL screens are very similar in function to desktop versions of Munis; however, the screens open in your Web browser using Microsoft® Silverlight™ technology. Unless otherwise specified, the content of this presentation is based on using the Tyler Dashboard and the GWC-SL client.

4 © 2010 Tyler Technologies, Inc. Version 9.1 and 8.3 Activating the GWC-SL client in Version 9.1 –Click on the User Profile button from your dashboard –Select the Web Version Program (GWC)

5 © 2010 Tyler Technologies, Inc. Version 9.1 and 8.3 Version 9.1 Toolbar –Version 9.1 includes an updated toolbar. When using the Web- based interface, be sure to use the Close button on the toolbar to close a screen or exit a program; if you use the close button for your browser, you close the entire Munis application.

7 © 2010 Tyler Technologies, Inc. System Administration Customizable Field Labels –Available from the Tools menu for all Munis programs. This program allows you to modify the labels and tooltips for fields on the screen. Using this program, you are now able to force text entered into an Edit field to uppercase whether the user turns caps lock on or not. The Force Uppercase (Modified) column allows you to indicate which fields force uppercase upon entry. The Force Uppercase (Standard) column displays the original setting for the field. A change in this program affects the screen for all users. This enhancement is also available in Version 8.3.

8 © 2010 Tyler Technologies, Inc. System Administration Enhancement Viewer –The Enhancement Viewer allows you to view release notes for a program for past, current, and future releases. This functionality is available when you click the light bulb on the toolbar. The Release Administration/Application Enhancements options in Site Settings allow you to indicate when access to the Enhancement Viewer is available and what kind of release information displays. –Unless specifically removed in a prior version of Munis, the application enhancement viewer is now available by default. An internet connection is no longer required for this feature, unless you allow users to view release notes for new versions. A file including enhancement notes for all Munis versions up to and including your current version is placed on your Munis application server by the installer. Enhancement notes for Munis releases newer than your current version are only available if you change your site settings. –This enhancement is also available in Version 8.3

When you click this button, the Munis KnowledgeBase opens. The program executes a search in the KnowledgeBase using the Munis program name and displays any Mail Merge templates available for the program. You can save a template from the KnowledgeBase, modify the template, add it to Munis using the Maintain Templates Tab, and then use it for the Mail Merge process.

14 © 2010 Tyler Technologies, Inc. System Administration Output and Report Viewer –The Output changes and new Report Viewer are only available if you are opening Munis programs using the GDC. –The Output Style options are available on the Output screen for most reports generated in Munis programs. The options are Presentation and Standard. When you select the Standard option, the report is created in a very basic text format. When you select the Presentation option, the report is created in a presentation-ready format that includes graphic headers and footers. The Standard option is selected when you send the report to a Munis printer or when you are saving the report as plain text and you cannot change this. The Presentation option is selected when you save or display the report as a PDF file and you cannot change this. You can choose which format the report is created in when you send the report to a local printer or display the report immediately.

The new report viewer provides a true preview experience, allowing you to print a report after viewing it without having to regenerate the report. You do not need to close viewer to allow an application to continue, so you can leave reports open and continue processing in Munis. When you display more than one report, each report displays in the same viewer window, with tabs differentiating the reports.

18 © 2010 Tyler Technologies, Inc. System Administration Scheduler Monitor Service –In previous versions of Munis, the Munis Scheduler was installed on its own PC or virtual machine and a VShell® install was required. Now, the Munis Scheduler is installed on the Munis Application Server as a Microsoft® Windows® service called the Munis Scheduler Monitor Service (SMS). This service executes the Scheduler Engine without the need for a dedicated Scheduler PC. The SMS can be started whenever the computer is booted, does not require a logged in user to function, and does not require a VShell license since there is no user interface during normal operations. The SMS comes with a Munis Scheduler Monitor Manager (SMM) application that allows you to configure, start, and stop the SMS. –Use of this functionality is optional. All existing Scheduler functionality remains unchanged and available, but you are able to use to SMS to eliminate the need for a dedicated Scheduler PC. –Also available in Version 8.3
