3 Project Model June 2009 - 6 students from 3 Allied Health professional groups Social Work, Speech Pathology & Dietetics May 2010 - 13 students Expanded to include Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy Sept 2010 - 11 students from 4 AH professions

4 Project Model 3 Learning Modules: Workshop: ‘Collaborative Teamwork: Essential Skills and Knowledge’ (2 hrs) Interactive Case Study (1.5hrs) Clinical Observation (2 hrs)

5 Workshop Collaborative Teamwork: Essential Skills & Knowledge Format: Concept of team in the acute healthcare setting Potential sources of strain between professionals Skills for navigating difficulties Case studies

12 Clinical observations 2 x 1 hour clinical observations with health professionals from other disciplines to student Opportunity to see theory put into practice

13 Networking In response to students’ feedback, more time for networking was built into the day

SCGH Pre and Post Training Surveys: Knowledge of allied health professional roles Knowledge of Referral pathways ( how & when) Relevance & interest of the program to practice Delivery style of presentations 2.
