Both Gulfcoast Software and POSitouch systems require minor configuration adjustments to enable the XML data stream transfer.  Gulfcoast ProtocolGulfcoast Protocol  POSitouch Protocol POSitouch Protocol

Run the setup.exe and follow the simple instructions. The default directory for installing the program is "C:\SC\TCPSvr". You may change this to be anything you like because this program does not require any specific directory. * You should be aware that you will find all logs pertaining to the TCP Data Server in the directory where it was installed * After setup is finished two icons are made available. One is placed on the desktop while the other is placed in the startup group. This means that every time the computer is restarted or booted, the TCP Data Server will automatically start. The icon on the desktop is there simply for convenience and may be removed if it is not needed. Continue

There are only three settings that are stored in TCPSvr.lNI. This file is located where the TCP Data Server was installed. All of these settings can be set through the TCP Data Server's user interface (see "User Interaction"), but you may also edit the file manually, if necessary. The file contains the following: [TCPDataServer] Port=5015 WriteLog=True ListOff=False Port specifies the TCP listening port that the TCP Data Server will be "listening“ to for incoming data. The value must be numeric. The default is port 5015 (so if it is blank or missing, then 5015 will automatically be used), but it can be changed to almost any port you desire, so long as the chosen port does not conflict with any other program or device on that port. WriteLog turns logging on or off. Turn logging on by setting Write Log = TRUE (or true). If WriteLog is set to any other value, then the log is turned off. The log is simply a file ("TCPSvr.log") to which all TCP data coming into the Server will be written, if this feature is activated. The log is purged of data older than two days when the server is started. This prevents the log from growing out of hand. Continue

Turn off on-screen logging by setting ListOff = TRUE (or true). If ListOff is set to any other value, then the on-screen log is turned on. This feature is simply an on-screen display for all TCP data coming into the Server. User Interaction Very little user interaction is necessary, if any. When the program loads, no user interface will be displayed. An icon in the Windows service tray will be the only immediate indication that the server is running. If left alone, the server will simply be listening for incoming TCP information over the specified listening port. This is the normal mode of operation, and no further interaction is necessary. A user interface may be called up by double-clicking the icon in the service tray. Continue

This is the TCP Data Server User Interface. The My IP label displays the IP address of the computer on which the server is running. Notice that the current listening port is also displayed. The window below “Data In” will display the latest raw data received by the TCP server. To change any of the settings described under “Configuration,” click “Settings…” A dialogue box like the one pictured will be displayed, allowing you to enter your settings. Click “Ok” to save the settings or “Cancel” to exit without saving. Click “Hide” or the minimize button to hide the user interface. Click “Exit” to stop the TCP server from running. Continue

Spcwin connects to the recipient of the XML Journal on ConnectXMLServerPort on startup only. Spcwin keeps an IP connection open at all times when it is running. Spcwin also listens on ListenXMLServerPort for any connection requests from the recipient of the XML Journal in order to support a reliable IP connection. The recipient of the XML Journal must provide similar logic for supporting an IP connection with spcwin.exe. It should connect to spcwin on ListenXMLServerPort every time it starts and listen all the time on ConnectXMLServerPort. Note that ListenXMLServerPort and ConnectXMLServerPort are not required to be the same number. Continue

17 All DVRs are not created equal. A stellar customer service record nationwide via direct service and our dealer network. Our 10-year site level electronic journal and enterprise database provides redundancy for all connected devices. We manufacture our systems, own and develop our own software, and source cameras and accessories directly from Asia. Multiple Device Interface allows simultaneous connection to POS systems, appliances and hardware device monitors (freezer, oven, and refrigeration gauges). Multiple Device Data Archive simultaneously monitors and distributes notification of critical hardware failures (such as refrigeration units). Welcome to Gulfcoast Software Solution’s Interactive Tutorial. When you decide to move forward with a DVR product and application, please consider the following unique features and benefits: Main Menu Multiple Device Management provides flags and notification for critical transaction or event level issues (such as total cash monitoring via integrated POS and safe deposit interfaces). Customer display video monitors feature an integrated “ticker tape” which may be used to feature advertisements, promotions, or notification in a highly visible location. Ease of use: Our daily device journal allows any data and video event on our system to be accessed by only “2 clicks” (select the date and item). Multi-Device Reporting, including cross referenced and combined device reports, flash and saved exception reports, shift analysis reports, time stamped event archives, and daily reports compiled by transaction and event level activity. Event/transaction level data captured simultaneously via USB, serial or Ethernet protocol and posted to our open database, your SQL application, or to other back office programs. Distributed enterprise event/transaction reports create ownership of the asset protection process from the store to the corporate office, at your discretion. Item level event and transaction archiving and data management tools can provide a foundation for all operational reporting requirements. In addition to traditional timed and motion video search, we offer the industry’s best data navigation tools (please ask our customers!). Export data via our open architecture database with functionality and flexibility (comma delineated, xml, etc.). We also feature five degreed programmers committed specifically to developing customized applications for our customers. Scheduled for release first quarter 2006… Compression: Our new patent-pending compression process yields four times the video storage of MPEG4 compression, and requires 75% less bandwidth. Specific transaction and event archiving allows video and data events such as credit card sales to be stored on a separate drive for long term retrieval and liability protection. Camera-specific video management allows FPS and resolution degradation for non-critical video files for high quality and hard drive maximization. Contact Sales at 727.776.3429 for more information.
