8 + University of Manitoba School of Dental Hygiene Direct Entry from High School Advanced Entry Applicants with University/College background Special Consideration Entry

9 + Direct Entry from High School Able to apply directly from a Manitoba high school (or the equivalent) Must met the General Entrance and Specific Admission Requirements 5 full credits at the Grade 12 level in courses A minimum 85% average over the following, with no less than 60% in each course: English 40S Applied Mathematics 40S or Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S One of Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Computer Science 40S Must be permanent resident or citizen of Canada at the time of application Entry to dental hygiene is guaranteed after completing the same prerequisites as advanced entry

10 + Advanced Entry: Academic Requirements Minimum of 30 credit hours of University course work, including the required courses Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 No grade less than C, exception of English Required courses with less than C must be repeated Minimum required grade for English is C+ All courses must be completed by April 2016.

15 + Deadlines and Important Dates ( 중요한 날짜와 기한 ) Direct Entry Application: May 1, 2016 Advanced Entry Application: March 1, 2016 (varies every year) Final official transcripts: June 1, 2016 Admission decision: Mid-June, 2016

16 + Enrollment Enrolment in Dental Hygiene is limited -> accepts 26 students per year Up to maximum of 4 students are selected from special consideration entry Preferences to Manitoba residents For direct entry applicants and regular applicants, enrollment is based on academic performances ( 학점으로만 입학 ) For special consideration applicants, enrolment is based on academic performance, interview, reference, with less weight on academic record

17 + Previous Entrance GPA Cut off GPA for the 2015/2016 = 3.61 Cut off GPA for the 2016/2017= 3.58

18 + In the Program… Dental hygiene students are educated for oral disease prevention and to promote oral health education for public During Academic year… All students required to achieve minimum of 70% on each course All students are required to perform treatment on clients at the University of Manitoba’s dental clinic starting second semester of 2 nd year.
