9 9 | Project overview Six laning of Bruce Highway (including corridor planning for eight lanes) between the Caloundra Road and Sunshine Motorway interchanges Upgrades to the Caloundra Road and Sunshine Motorway interchanges to replace the existing at-grade ramp intersections Two lane service road on the western side of the Bruce Highway Rationalisation of existing highway access with upgraded ramp arrangements.

11 11 | Project benefits Provides a safer highway network Reduction in delays for vehicles and improved travel times Improves capacity for the Bruce Highway Upgrades existing interchanges Provides an alternative route for local traffic and a cycling route between Steve Irwin Way and Tanawha Tourist Drive, by a new western service road Removes the at-grade Sunshine Motorway westbound connection to the Bruce Highway northbound entry ramp Replaces the existing deteriorated concrete pavement on the Bruce Highway. Posted speed returned to 110km/hr.

12 12 | Funding $1.134 billion Bruce Highway Upgrade Project Caloundra Road to Sunshine Motorway Funded on an 80:20 basis under the Infrastructure Investment Program with the Australian Government contributing $907.2 million and the Queensland Government contributing $226.8 million Estimated construction budget of $500 million (excluding GST).

13 13 | Environment 21 April 2015 - Referred the project to the Department of the Environment (DOE) under the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act 1999 18 May 2015 – DOE deemed the project a controlled action and  issued an information request.  requires an additional public consultation phase.  prepared a recommendation for the federal Minister for the Environment post review of the additional information, public comments to approve with conditions or to not approve the action. The Department of Transport and Main Roads will provide further information during this process.
