2 Vocabulary List 1 Roots – VIG Latin VIEGERE Words with this root – Guess the meaning – How do the words relate to each other? – Vigilance, invigorate, vigorous Definition = To be lively, energetic – ERG, URG Greek ERGON Words with this root – Guess the meaning – How do the words relate to each other? – Urgent, energetic, allergy, energy, surgery Definition = Work

3 Vocabulary List 1 Convergence (noun) – The act of coming together and meeting – Due to the convergence of the two largest cable companies, many of the smaller competitors will soon close their doors. – In this climate, the convergence of the warm air and the cool air could trigger a tornado. Divergent (adj) – Varying; going in different directions from the same point – The mother and daughter had very divergent ideas about how the daughter should dress. – Even though we are best friends, our opinions are always divergent.
