2 Figures and facts  Population: 7,668,300  City Area: 1,572 sq.km  Metro area: 8,920 sq.km  London is home to 43 universities - the largest concentration of higher education in Europe.  London has four UNESCO world heritage sites  24.5% of London’s population is made up of people aged 19 or under  There were 770,443 crimes (all notifiable offences) committed in London in 2012/13  The Metropolitan Police has more than 100,000 followers on its Twitter account
