17 Kiev 16 - 18 June 201517Petteri Baer Core ideas of the advanced training program in statistical skills All participants study according to the same comprehensive study program thus receiving a broad and cross-sectional understanding of the work performed in Statistics Finland Studying is based on a voluntary participation in the course The student’s own interest to broaden the understanding Sometimes some pushing to participate may be needed The training content is interesting Satisfaction of the course participants is also checked from time to time

Group works were the best part of training and discussions with senior statisticians were very fruitful. Exercises forced to think and make things on your own, which was demanding, but rewarding.” “Meeting other statisticians and colleagues was great. Earlier I didn´t know what happens in other units. Now I also understand the meaning of my own unit and team in Statistics Finland better.”
