4 The rod of Asclepius is an ancient Greek symbol associated with astrology, and with healing the sick through medicine. Asclepius, the son of Apollo, was practitioner of medicine in ancient Greek mythology. Hermes, the fasted God, carried his wand. The blind symbol of justice is said to be based off of Themis, the goddess of law and order.
