2. ARCHIVE PHOTOGRAPHY Archive aerial photography is available for the period dating from around 1960 to present day and is a combination of mostly aerial photography along with the raw images from the orthophotography project (TIFF format). All photographs are dated and are either black and white or colour. Update Scanning programme is ongoing (Estimated completion date 2013) Digital flight diagrams (.shp) are now available, detailing date of flying, film no. etc – allowing easier access to the raster imagery Possibility to include data in new NIMA agreement

3. HISTORICAL MAPPING OSNI together with Public Record Office (NI) have created geo- referenced raster data for over 20 000 historical maps dating from the 1830’s to the 1960’s. A Point’s of Interest dataset also provides a key search facility for this dataset Update Ongoing improvements and cataloguing Recent customer survey to inform way forward

6. Raster street maps offer clear street level backdrop mapping for use in any GIS software. All raster street maps are cartographically identical to their paper equivalents. 1 : 10 000 STREET MAP AND GAZETTEER……..

7. 1 : 25 000 ACTIVITY MAPS…….. Mournes The Glens Lough Erne Strangford Sperrins ‘Designed specifically for the enthusiast, The Mournes Map will concentrate on tracks, walks and cliffs etc whilst the new Lough Erne Map concentrates on navigation guides and hydro graphic information…….

8. OSNI 1:25,000 Activity update New Activity map – Causeway Coast and Rathlin Island Glens to be updated this year – extent changed slightly.

Requested by several customers Raster production going to 4 year cycle (from 3) 1:50,000 vector dataset being updated this year 1:50,000 vector sold as bundles. Administrative boundary bundle now being sold as individual layers – PC, LGD, ward etc

14. ADDRESS DATASET (POINTER) Pointer data is supplied either as a full dataset or in 26 individual Local Government District datasets. Available as download from OSNI Map Store ‘The Pointer database was created following a complex data-matching exercise on address datasets, maintained by Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland, Royal Mail and the Valuation & Lands Agency. Extensive ground validation work was then undertaken in order to verify addresses that did not match’ A common standardized address for every property in Northern Ireland. Each property has been allocated a unique reference number and geo-spatial coordinates to locate the property within Northern Ireland.
