Primary school as a unit – home schools can participate CACC cannot form a team Sprint, Target, Team rounds + countdown round for fun Chapter competition in Feb State competition in March

5 American Math Competition (AMC)
AMC 8 – once per year, in November 25 Qs/40min AMC 10/12 – twice per year (A/B), in February Take both A & B AMC 10  AIME  USAJMO  Awards AMC 12  AIME  USAMO  MOSP  IMO

6 Mathleague.Org 3 level sections
-- Elementary (grades 3-6), Middle School (grades 6-8) & High School (grades 9-12) Website: mathleague.org Usually once a month For middle school -- Mathcounts format – good for students to practice for Mathcounts Has to be own school team (CACC cannot form a team) -- register self online

7 Math Olympiad (MO) 2 Divisions – team only, up to 35 students
-- Elementary (MOEMS, E division) – grades 4-6 -- Middle (MOEMS, M division) – grades 6-8 5 monthly contests, 5 questions at each contest, specific time limit for each question Online grade entry by organizers CACC math program offers such contest in class

8 Bay Area Math Olympiad (BAMO)
BAMO 8, BAMO 12 4 hour, 4-5 problem proof-based competition Individual, no team Yearly, in February Harvest Park, Mr. Lomas

9 Berkeley Math Tournament
1) Berkeley Mini Math Tournament (BmMT) – in Nov yearly mainly for middle school students 5 students per team 2) Berkeley Math Tournament (BMT) – in March yearly mainly for high school students 6-8 students per team (more rounds) ****************************************** --- on UC Berkeley Campus --- fun, well organized, good practice --- *** CACC CAN form a team – CACC register together
