1 Fashion in France France is a leading country in the fashion industry, particularly around the capital city Paris alongside Germany, Italy, the USA, the UK, Spain, Japan, China and many others.

2 Background French design became prominent during the 15th–20th centuries, when artistic development in France was at its peak. The fashion has been an important industry and cultural export of France since the seventeenth century, and modern "haute couture" originated in the capital in the 1860s. The French fashion is particularly centered around Paris, along with New York City, London and Milan, is considered one of the world's fashion capitals. the city is home or headquarters to many of the premier fashion houses, including: Céline, Chanel, Chloe, Dior, Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier, Hermès, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurent.

3 Paris Paris is regarded as the world fashion capital, has spread throughout the city a lot of fashion boutiques. Numerous international fashion labels also operate shops in Paris, including an Abercrombie & Fitch flagship store which has become a main consumer attraction.

4 Paris Fashion Week Fashion week happens twice a year in the major fashion capitals of the world. Fashion weeks are held several months in advance of the season to allow the press and buyers a chance to preview fashion designs for the following season. From January through April designers showcase their autumn and winter collections. Fashion week for spring and summer is held from September through November.

5 The Avenue des Champs- Élysées The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is traditionally the avenue of the luxury, fashion and beauty of France with many headquarters of luxury houses compared with the 5th Avenue of NYC. The Avenue is also one of the most famous streets in the world for upscale shopping. Adidas, Benetton, the Disney Store, Nike, Zara, H&M, Cartier, continental Europe's largest Gap, and Sephora occupy major spaces. Traditionally home to popular brands, as well as luxury brands Louis Vuitton, Hugo Boss, Lacoste, the Avenue des Champs-Élysées confirms its world-class appeal as a prime real estate location for fashion.
