2 Planning with the Future in Mind Career path College, university, trade, workplace? University, U/C, College, Workplace? Pre-requisites Literacy Test (March 26 th, 2015) Did you write and pass last year? Community Service (40 hours)

3 Compulsory Credits  English – U, C or E  Math – U, M, C, or E (not compulsory, but many will take grade 12 math)  Ensure you are meeting Group 1,2 and 3 Choose appropriately based on your potential destination/program !!

4 The OSSD (your high school diploma)

5 Four Years or Five Years and the 34 Credit Cap  The Ministry of Education has determined that Ontario Secondary students will be funded for a maximum of 34 credits  Exceptions:  ESL students  Student with an active IEP  Questions?

6 Semester Format  6 courses minimum for full time  In order to be eligible for athletic teams, a 5th year student must be carrying 2 credits per semester.  Minimum 3 credits (over one semester)  4 or more credits (over two semesters)  Must stay within the 34 credit cap

7 Fifth Year  Minimum 3 credits (over one semester)  4 or more credits (over two semesters)  Must stay within the 34 credit cap

9 Important for Grade 12 For University You will need 6 “U” or “M” courses at the Grade 12 Level One of those will be ENG 4U Specific programs have specific requirements For College Admission is based on different courses depending on your program choice Conestoga College will add 10 marks to any U or U/C course you take
