Warsaw's name in the Polish language is Warszawa, it means "belonging to Warsz", Warsz being a shortened form of the masculine name of Slavic origin Warcisław. According to legend, Sawa was a mermaid living in the Vistula River with whom Wars fell in love. From this legend comes the name of the city.

8 National Stadium in Warsaw National Stadium is located in Warsaw, Poland. It is used mostly for football matches and it is the home stadium of Poland national football team. The stadium has a seating capacity of 58,145 which makes it the largest football arena in Poland. Its construction started in 2008 and finished in November 2011. The stadium has a retractable PVC roof. The National Stadium hosted the opening match, the 2 group matches, a quarterfinal, and the semifinal of the UEFA Euro 2012, co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine.

11 The Baltic sea The Baltic Sea is located between Central and Northern Europe in the northern part of Poland.

12 Clusters of lakes The largest lake in Poland is Mamry and the deepest lake is Lake Hancza (108.5 m). These are mainly lake of glacial origin and are located primarily in the northern part of the country. There are 7081 Polish lakes.

13 The longest rivers The longest rivers are the Vistula in Poland (with the length of 1047 km), Warta (808 km), Bug (772 km, within the limits of Polish 224 km, 363 km stretch of the border), the Narew (484 km) and San (443 km). The Oder which is a river in Central Europe. It rises in the Cech Republic and flows through western Poland, later forming 187 kilometres of the border between Poland and Germany. The river ultimately flows into the Szczecin Lagoon north of Szczecin.

14 Tatras The Tatras are the most well known and popular mountain range in the country that form a natural border between Slovakia and Poland. They are the highest mountain range in the Carpathian Mountains. The highest peak of the Polish Tatras is Rysy, at 2,499 m (8200 ft) located in the south of Zakopane. We can find many hiking and biking trails and numerous ski slopes in winter.

15 Bieszcza dy It is the western part of the Eastern Beskids located between Lupkowska Pass (640 m) and Wyszkowska Pass (933 m). The highest peak located in our country is Tarnica (1 346 m). The summit is part of the Crown of Polish Mountains - and on top there are delightful and beautiful landscapes.

18 Lo dz Lodz is the third-largest city in Poland. Located in the central part of the country. The city's name translates literally as "boat". In Lodz there is located the biggest shopping Center in Poland – Manufaktura. It is also one of academic centers (six state universities and 22 private), as well as cultural.

19 Piotrkowski county–located in the eastsouth part of Lodz voivodeship. The main city is Piotrkow Trybunalski. Piotrków, is known as second biggest "logistic center" after Warsaw. There is high concentration of warehouses and distribution centres around the city.

25 Polish national dances Krakowiak - lively Polish folk dance from the area of Crakov, belongs to the Polish national dances. Polonaise– a dance which roots are in folk music. Polonaise is always a first dance at a senior prom that occurs approximately 100 days before exams. Oberek - also called „Obertas”, the fastest national dance. Kujawiak - Polish folk dance from the region of Kujawy in central Poland. It is one of the five national dances. It is fairly slow. Mazur -is a traditional Polish folk dance from Masovia. This dance consists of many lifts and jumps
