2 3. Develop the leadership potential of your cadets. 4. Make Sound and Timely Decisions 5. Train your cadets to work as a team. You won’t be the leader forever. Somebody Will be replacing you eventually. By giving your followers a chance to lead, you’ll foster esprit de corps. SOUND DECISIONS are made carefully, Weighing the pros and cons. TIMELY DECISIONS don’t take forever to make, and are done so efficiently. 411.04 – Red Star OHP - 2

3 6. Communicate clearly 7. Keep cadets informed Plan your orders in advance of giving them. Answer questions clearly, or find clear answers to the questions. Cadets are more comfortable following you if they know what you know. Answer all of reasonable questions without having to be asked. 411.04 – Red Star OHP - 3

4 8. Take Personal Initiative 9. Improve on Personal Weakness and capitalize on strengths. Deal with problems before they happen. Be PROACTIVE rather than REACTIVE. Solve problems using your own experience personal knowledge. Not everything needs to be solved by your superior. 411.04 – Red Star Work to improve upon your weaknesses. You’re always learning! Share your strengths with your followers, So that they can learn from you. Use your strengths to do your job well. OHP - 4
