What is ADHD? Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Neurological condition involving problems with inattention and hyperactivity- impulsivity that are developmentally inconsistent with a child’s age It is a function of developmental failure in the areas of the brain that monitor inhibition and self-control

Children with ADHD often have difficulty: Remaining seated Sustaining attention and waiting for turns Following directions Listening to others without being distracted or interrupting Delaying gratification Shifting from one activity to another Blurting out answers Paying close attention to details and avoiding mistakes Losing things
