From the Main Menu of the PPS, Click on “Libraries”.

Then click on “Program Library”

From the list of Program Domains which appears, we will double click on “Home Living”.

From the list of Program Categories which appears, we will double click on “Food Handling”.

From the list of Library Items that appears, we’ll double click on “Prepare Cold Food”

We are now at the “Program Level” of the Library. The program we want (Preparing Cold Cereal) is not here, so we will add it. First we will click on “Insert” Second, you will see a box open for the Program Title.

After we type in the Program Title, we’ll click on “Done”.

Now we’ll click the select button to enter the details of this program.

We’ll press to accept the title as it is.

Click in the box to the left of “Total Task Model” to identify this program as being a Total Task type of training program. Also, be sure there is a check mark in box to left of “Step Increase Means Progress”.

Tab to the box for Data Collected and enter a phrase. This is the type of data you will collect during training and record on the Data Collection Form.

Click on the down arrow to the right of “Summary Point” for a list of options. We’ll select :Average of all data points in period”. This is how the PPS will take the daily data and convert it into one data point for the month.

Next we’ll click on the Condition prompt and type “When told to do so”

Then we will click on the blank area to right of “Behavior” and type the next part of the objective..

We will type “will prepare cold cereal with 50% or more independence”

Then we’ll click on “Criteria”, and type “for 9 of the last 10 sessions”

Now the criteria statement must be repeated, this time so the computer will know when the objective has been accomplished.

At the meets criteria box, click on the top arrow until 9 appears. Click on the top arrow to the right of the “of the last” until the 10 appears.

Click on the next arrow box and click on “Sessions”.

Type training strategy in the “Strategy” section. When done, click the next button.

There is no need to assign steps, since the program is a total task type of program. The PPS will calculate the percentage of independence for us automatically.

Click on Task Analysis to bring up the list of Task Analyses. Type in “Pre” in the “Find:” section of the screen.

Double click on “Preparing a Bowl of Cereal”. This will assign the right task analysis to this program.

Next we’ll click on “Performance Level:”.

Type in “Re” in the “Find” box to move the right set of Performance Levels to the top, and click on “Refuse/Full Physical/Multiple Verbal/One Verbal/Independent”.

Click the Exit Button twice to return to the Main Menu.

Now we are returned to the Main Menu. We have successfully added a new program - Prepare Cold Cereal - to our PPS Program Library!
