4 Welcome to the MICC MISSION: The MICC provides Army commands, installations, and activities with disciplined and responsive contracting solutions and oversight. On order, provides trained and deployable Contracting Support Brigades to the Operating Force. “On behalf of the Mission and Installation Contracting Command Commanding General, Brigadier General Jeffrey A. Gabbert and the more than 1200 soldiers and civilians comprising the MICC Family, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the MICC-Fort XXXX Open House. We are committed to building a ready, transparent, and accountable organization that is built on trust and respect, and this open house is a big part of that commitment. The MICC stands committed to ensuring the promotion of early exchanges of information about future acquisitions. An early exchange of information among industry and the program manager, contracting officer, and other participants in the acquisition process can identify and resolve concerns regarding the proposed acquisition and remedy any other industry concerns or questions. We want to talk with you and hear from you, and we want to ensure that you hear from us, as early as possible in the acquisition life-cycle. United States Armed Services Occupies 340 square miles (214,968 acres) Population includes 44,000+ military and civilian employees, 13,000+ contractor personnel, 80,000+ family members (on and off post), 241,000+ others Per Texas State Comptroller memo dated April 2008, the estimated economic impact of Fort Hood on Central Texas region was $10 billion dollars Fort Hood is the largest single site employer in Texas. Notification of impending requirements is made publicly, generally in one of two ways: Posting sources sought or a synopsis through the Government Point of Entry (GPE) – e.g. FedBizOpps and Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) Advance Acquisition Forecast Fort Hood relies mainly on synopsizing through GPE, but the MICC Advance Acquisition Forecast is available for larger, recurring service acquisitions:

profile – critical for SBA’s Dynamic Small Business Search Market to the SBA and to an agency’s Small Business Specialist Read the solicitation and contract THOROUGHLY! Attend pre-proposal conferences and site visits Ask questions Ask for debriefings Insure accuracy of quote amounts/delivery Don’t ignore contract administration – affects past performance
