5. The acts of the sinful nature [flesh] are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

6. SELF-CONTROL:
Pursuit of virtue by tempering the domination of appetites. Willfully resisting temptation, for a higher benefit. Godly discipline of the mind and body.

7. STAGES OF DEMONIC TEMPTATION
1) Suggestion – A word or picture without sin.
2) Assent – Soul dialogs with suggestion; gives in and slips into habit.
3) Captivity – Heart dragged involuntarily. Sin is now one’s treasure. Stronghold.

8. Turn to me and have mercy on me, as You always do to those who love your name. Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. (Psalm 119: )
