Theme: ‘Environment and Climate Change' FP6- SUSTDEV – III.1.1 Challenges in assessing and forecasting biodiversity and ecosystem changes in EUROPE Coordinator Universite Joseph Fourier, France Advanced modelling approaches has been used so far to assess the impact of global change on biodiversity and ecosystems. These approaches yield projections of the distribution of species, communities and biomass and the functioning of ecosystems. Future goods and services are then asessed from these projections. However four main limitations remain associated to these approaches. Brussels, November National Institute R&D for Biological Sciences
