3 2. List ways in which government comes in contact with you in each of the following areas of your life. Home: The government provides construction standards and rules for the safety of your house. School: The government sets up public schools, provides textbooks, curriculum, free and reduced lunch programs and testing guidelines.

The Federal government sets food safety standards. Travel: The government provides your state and interstate road system, air traffic controllers for airports, and safety standards for planes and public transportation vehicles.
