2 The PHILIPPINE NATIONAL SINGLE WINDOW Was delivered in December 2009 by Crown Agents It is now operational in 30 government agencies that issue permits, licenses and clearances Transacting public can now use the system to apply for permit and clearance

3 Bureau of Customs WHAT DOES IT DO? Helps trader apply for permits, licenses and clearances online Gives information on the progress of application at the agency Increases the transparency and predictability of government processes Gives direct link to Customs for faster goods clearance

4 Bureau of Customs BENEFITS Transaction is paperless No need to physically transact at the government agency Traders can now transact electronically wherever they are Payment can be made online using BancNet and G-cash Secure versions of the permits, licenses and clearances are electronically sent to Customs Reduced time & cost of doing business

11 Bureau of Customs INTERNET CONNECTION Agencies have internet connectivity included as part of the project Agencies have Internet Phones (VOIP) to allow inter-agency communication

12 Bureau of Customs NSW SOFTWARE The “heart” of the project is the TRIPS Software -TRIPS software is an off-the-shelf solution from Crown Agents -It provides full functionality as per specification -It was enhanced to include Digital Signatures Electronic Payments Inter-Agency Portal - Supported by ORACLE database

17 NSW IS A “WORK-IN-PROGRESS” NSW in early stages of implementation: not yet fully optimized – Manual permit/clearance procedure is still allowed in some agencies Paper permits are still used Marginal use by ‘small-user’ agencies Sustain NSW advocacy to ‘small users’
