3 1.ABSTRACT: India has the largest population of blind people in the world. That’s over 12 million people. Most of them live in the poorest parts of the country with little or no access to even basic health care facilities. Disability is a contextual experience, and depends ion, on the interaction between an individual and his/her environment, including physical, information, communication, social, and policy environments. Effective communication is essential in creating an accessible information and social environment for people with disabilities. BLINDNESS is a physical handicap which can be minimized by appropriate rehabilitation and by development and use of the other senses.

4 2.OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the project is to provide a services to blinds to know the location of the place when they need and information can be provided by voice form. Blindness is a physical handicap which can be minimized by appropriate rehabilitation and by development and use of the other senses. In this process if the blind person wants to the know the information about the location then he need to press the switch, after pressing the switch the ARM controller and will give voice announcement about the location

5 3.BLOCK DIAGRAM:

6 4.METHODOLOGY: The project consists of switches unit consisting of appropriate switches, controller and a voice kit. If the Blind person wants to know the information of the location where he is there, for that he need to press the switch. If the switch is pressed, the pressed switch will indicates the requirement of the person like information of the location. The signal from the switch is given to the ARM to present corresponding voice information to indicate exactly the information about the location of the place.

7 5.ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES: ADVANTAGES: 1.Automatic way of finding the information of the location. 2.Consumes less power. 3.Facilitates simple asset recovery and tracking. 4.Helps the visually disabled to navigate safely.. 5.Improving the capacity of the system helps to cover large areas. DISADVANTAGES: 1. The only thing that is clear about constitutional protections for location-based service information is the lack of clarity.

8 6.APPLICATIONS:  Public and private transportation.  Location searching.  Espionage/surveillance.  Useful for visually impaired as an information guider.  Can also be used as location identifier using suitable modifications.  Can be used for providing security against theft and enemy alerts for blind people.  Can be implemented in trains and buses to provide information about the upcoming stations to the passengers.

9 7.CONCLUSION: In this System the speaking ARM for blinds, designed and developed a low cost system based on integration of ARM controller is described. The system consists of different modules which are linked.. A new service, to facilitate the people who blind for traveling, is introduced. The service provides the user with current information of desired location with voice announcement.
