Computer Programming 1 Prerequisite: None Grade Level: 9-12 Topics covered: Programming in Visual Basic and JavaScript 3D Design and 3D Printing Programming for Robotics. Homework level is minimal. Students will have to complete projects on a schedule. Intensity Level: CP Elective Counts as Math class for graduation? NO

AP Computer Science Principles Prerequisite: Geometry with at least B or Computer Programming 1 with at least a B Grade Level: 10-12 Description: There will be some programming development using the Python language. Using HTML and CSS to create webpages will also be covered. Emphasis will be on creating artifacts for the AP Portfolio and preparing for the AP Assessment in May. Homework is assigned on a regular basis. Students will have to complete projects and take tests on topics covered in class. Intensity Level: CP Math Class Counts as Math Class for Graduation? YES!

AP Computer Science Prerequisite: Algebra 2 with at least B or AP Computer Science Principles with a B Grade Level: 10-12 Description: Finding computer-based solutions to challenging problems in several application areas using the language Java. Emphasis will be placed on meeting the criteria for taking the AP Exam in Computer Science in May. Reading and homework are assigned on a regular basis. Students will have to complete complex programming assignments and take advanced level tests on topics covered in class and outside reading. Intensity Level: AP/Honors Math Class Counts as Math Class for Graduation? YES!
