6. Adjectives generally follow the nouns that they describe: Mi madre es una mujer trabajadora. My mother is a hard-working woman. Es una clase difícil. It’s a hard class.

7. Adjectives are often used with the verb ser: Tu perro es gordo y feo. Your dog is fat and ugly. Tus padres son muy simpáticos. Your parents are very nice.

8. Bueno/a and malo/a can be placed before or after the noun. When bueno and malo are placed before a masculine singular noun, the final –o is dropped. Carlos es un buen chico. Carlos es un chico bueno. Carlos is a good kid. Pablo es un mal hombre. Pablo es un hombre malo. Pablo is a bad man.

9. When grande comes before a singular noun, it becomes gran and its meaning changes. San Francisco es una ciudad grande. San Francisco is a big city. San Francisco es una gran ciudad. San Francisco is a great city.
