3 You teach 8th grade art. Sabrina is a girl in your class. Last week you saw Sabrina and Dylan holding hands in the hall. Today they're sitting across the room from each other. Sabrina has created a provocative collage with a repeating broken-heart image. When you compliment it, she says, "You don't have to lie. I know it sucks." She starts tearing it up. What do you do?

I'm not going to be tall enough for the NBA, so why even bother?" What do you do?

Carlos is helping Gabriela with a story problem about firing a cannonball. Gabriela suddenly starts sobbing uncontrollably. You remember that her big sister is serving in Afghanistan. Carlos looks confused and panicked. What do you do?
