Company Confidential IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 1 IAQG Workshop 9100 Certification Scheme Certification status – Changes implemented Tim Lee The Boeing Company Chair IAQG OPMT October 22, 2010

2 IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 9100 Series Certification Scheme Our sector certification scheme utilizes ISO for basic requirements and supplements ISO with Aviation, Space and Defense (ASD) unique requirements. – ISO 9001 as supplemented by 9100 series » ISO 17021 and IAF Mandatory Documents Web Site

3 IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 IAQG Website EAQG Website OASIS International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) Industry Controlled Other Party (ICOP)

4 IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 What is ICOP ICOP is a globally harmonized Aerospace Quality Management System (AQMS) Certification process defined by the IAQG –Industry Controlled: »The IAQG through each Sector provides direct oversight of all AQMS certification activities –Other Party: »Certifications activities are conducted by accredited Certification Bodies (CB) and Authenticated Aerospace Experienced Auditors (AEA) that are recognized through the ICOP process ICOP process is managed by the IAQG Other Party Management Team (OPMT)

5 IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 What is ICOP Benefits –Globally harmonized certification scheme that is recognized by major Aviation, Space and Defense companies –Supports supplier approval activities with a recognized quality management system –Process approach to conformance assessment –Focus on meeting customer expectations Risk –Does not prevent procurement from poor performing suppliers –It is not certification of product

7 IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 Other Party Management Team The Other Party Scheme is based on: –The use of identical or equivalent international, sector and national standards based on 9104 –An industry oversight system at international, sector and national levels to ensure that scheme's requirements are fulfilled based on 9104/2 –Auditors authenticated against identical requirements based on 9104/3 –All information related to the scheme is collected in the Online Aerospace Supplier Information System (OASIS) database

8 IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 9104 Series 9104/1 – Accreditation/Certification Requirements –Sector management structure (SMS) –Approved Accredited Bodies –Accredited Certification Bodies –Aerospace Experienced Auditors –Auditor Authentication Bodies –OASIS database management 9104/2- Oversight –Oversight and surveillance process to ensure conformance to established aerospace industry 9100-series accreditation/certification requirements. 9104/3 – Auditor Authentication & Training –A common process for aerospace auditor training and authentication to be utilized by all the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) sectors.

9 IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 9 Certification Changes 9104/1 will include detailed definitions and eligibility criteria for the following certification structures –Single Site –Multiple Site –Campus –Several Sites –Complex The above takes into consideration the unique organizational structures that exist in the Aviation, Space and Defense industry today

10 IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 Organizational Structures Single Site - An organization that operates at one site. Site - A site is a permanent location where an organization carries out work or a service. Represents approximately 85% of all certificates in the ICOP Scheme

11 IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 Organizational Structures Multiple Site - An organization having an identified central function and a network of sites at which activities are fully or partially carried out. All sites must have a common QMS and be doing substantially the same process. International Accreditation Forum Mandatory Document (IAF MD 1).

12 IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 Organizational Structures Campus - An organization having an identified central function and a decentralized, sequential, linked product realization process. All sites must have a common QMS and support the same values stream. Value Stream =+++

13 IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 Organizational Structures Several Site - An organization having an identified central function and a network of sites that do not meet the criteria for a multiple site or campus organization operating under the same QMS. Central Function Site C Site B Site A Network of Sites

14 IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 Organizational Structures Complex - An organization having an identified central function and a network of locations that are any combination of multiple site, campus, several sites or more than one campus. Must have a common QMS Will require review and approval Of OPMT Sub Team

15 IAQG Workshop October 21, 2010 9100/9110/9120 Transition IAQG has established a 30 month timeline for certification transition: All aerospace auditors must successfully complete re-authentication process Suppliers must declare conformance to 9100/9120/9110:2009 Stakeholders must follow OPMT Supplemental Rule SR001 (Posted to OASIS) Audits have began and transition to be completed by July 2012 Additional guidance available at the following link: 9100 Deployment Support Materials9100 Deployment Support Materials
