8. Year 5 Website club In year 5 website club we have been doing a page about Great North East Inventors. The inventers we are learning about are: William Armstrong Charles Parsons Robert Stephenson George Stephenson Joseph Swan William Armstrong invented Hydroelectricity. He also put the machine in the Swing Bridge on the Tyne.

9. Charles Parsons invented the Steam Turbine. He put one in a ship called the Turbinia and it is in the Discovery Museum in Newcastle upon Tyne. Robert Stephenson invented the high bridge on the Tyne. Year 5 Website club
