4 Sight Word Recognition Sight words are words that are most common when reading. Students are expected to know each word automatically. Highlighted words will be assessed every other Friday. In order to successfully learn these words, students cannot sound out these words.

5 Mid-Term Reports These reports are sent during the third week of each six weeks grading period. Skills that have not been mastered by your child will be highlighted. All behavior problems will be listed on this report. The number of sight words your child has mastered will also be listed.

6 Report Cards Every six weeks, your child will receive a report card. The Kindergarten report card is a skills based report card created using our state standards. Each six weeks, you will receive a list of the skills that we are working on. Instead of letter grades, we mark student progress by the following criteria: S (satisfactory), N (needs improvement), U (unsatisfactory).
