3 Where It All Began… Quaid-e-Azam was the founder and first governor-general. He was born on December 25, 1876. He died on September 11, 1948.

4 Quick Facts Pakistan has a population of 170.6 million.
It is located in Southeast Asia. Pakistan has the seventh largest standing armed forces and is the only Muslim-majority nation to posess nuclear weapons.

5 National Tree Cedrus Deodara is a species of cedar.
It is a large evergreen coniferous tree reaching 40–50 m tall. It has a conic crown with level branches and drooping branches.

6 National Sport The Pakistan National Field Hockey Team is also known as the Green Shirts. They represent the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF). Field Hockey is the national sport of Pakistan. They have won a total of four Hockey World Cup titles.

7 National Animal The Markhor is a large species of wild goat that is found in northeastern Afghanistan and Pakistan.

8 Islamabad Stock Exchange Tower
The Islamabad Stock Exchange Towers are one of the high-rises located on the Jinnah Avenue of the Blue Area business district of Islamabad. The airline Airblue has its head office on the 12th floor.

9 Currency The rupee is the currency of Pakistan.
In Pakistan, the rupee is referred to as the "rupees", "rupaya" or "rupaye". The origin of the word "rupee" is found in the Sanskrit word rūp or rūpā, which means “silver" in many Indo-Aryan languages.

10 Independence Day On August 14, the people of Pakistan celebrate the day Pakistan gained its independence from British India and formed an independent state for Muslims.

11 Pakistani Weddings Marriage in Pakistan is considered the most standard and stable living form for adults. A marriage is understood not only as a link between a man and a woman but it is also considered a union between their parents' families.

12 Pakistani Food The cuisine of Pakistan can be described as a refined blend of various regional cooking traditions of the subcontinent. Pakistani cuisine is known for its richness and flavor.
