4 3. What is the role of the citizen in an autocracy? Examples? Little or no role/influence In autocracies the leader has unlimited power. Life is usually restrictive—fear and military involved often. Life example: Saddam Hussein School example: Kietzman in 3 rd, 6 th, 7 th.

Little or no role/influence In oligarchies, a few people rule (usually rich/powerful) and share power Life is usually restrictive Fighting in govt over power Change leadership often because of power struggles Life example: NONE! No one likes to share School example: Kietzman & Nolasco in 1 st & 2 nd

6 5. What is the role of the citizen in a democracy? Example? Active role in influencing the government including, lobbying, voting, writing representatives Democratic governments get their power from the people. Life is usually better than in the others but not perfect. Life example: US, Canada, India, School example: Student Forum members vote and influence school events.
