3. Those emotions are the representation of “moods” for people. This unit is going to focus on the “moods” of a VERB. What is a verb mood? Strategies used in writing to indicate a state of being or reality. They show the manner in which the action/condition is intended.

4. There are FIVE types of verb moods: 1.Indicative 2.Interrogative 3.Imperative 4.Subjunctive 5.Conditional

5. Indicative The indicative verb mood states an apparent fact. *This is the way verbs are normally used in English EXAMPLES: 1.) Last year I ate a sandwich for lunch almost everyday. 2.) Mrs. Freeman drives a very nice car. 3.) Bernie’s cat likes to sit on the piano bench.

7. Interrogative The interrogative verb mood indicates a state of questioning. Subject-Verb order is switched. (Interrogative of: You will walk to the library tomorrow.) EXAMPLES: 1.)
