1. Hypothetical situation =after "if" clauses that state or describe a hypothetical situation

8. Subjunctive Cont.
Also in a “that” clause when the main clause expresses a demand, command, recommendation, request, or take certain action
Examples:
They demand that the management refund their money.
The board recommends that the treasurer resign at once.
