2 Who are we targeting?  Junior riders U13 and younger  New members to cycling

3 Purpose of Initiative  Increase Junior numbers in our sport  Bring Parents into the sport  Target more officials  Create a more social environment  New parents, new ideas  Pathway into J-Cycle Program

4 What events can these new members compete in?  Kids at this age & new to the sport need to be skilled in a fun environment  Involve Parents in running activities  Activities to develop Bike Skills  Modified race events, time trials  Club Race Events  Interclub Race events

5 What is the Cost  A low, low $5.00  This is not a financial strategy  It is numbers driven  Benefits will flow from depth in Juniors Juniors  J-Cycle is an optional extra for $40.00 $40.00

6 What is the Objective behind this Junior Membership Development Initiative  Increase Junior member numbers  Sign-Up Kids for J-Cycle Program  Prepare new members for racing  Encourage new members to upgrade their licenses to race in open carnivals their licenses to race in open carnivals  Bring more Mums & Dads into the sport & encourage their involvement & encourage their involvement

12 Are riders covered by CA Insurance?  Absolutely  Same insurance benefits as full financial members financial members  Risks are deemed low

13 What types of bikes can be used?  All types of bikes providing they comply with the law comply with the law

14 What needs to be done at Club level?  Advertise the new $5 Junior Membership Development Initiative on their website, in newsletters  Licenses can only be issued to non-members of Cycling Australia as an incentive to join an affiliated club  Complete a standard 2005 membership affiliation form, highlighting Affiliation as Junior Development License  Provide a receipt to the rider as per normal procedure  Cost is $5  Junior Development License is available to Junior U9, U11 & U13 riders in 2005 U9, U11 & U13 riders in 2005  Riders issued with a Junior Development license can compete in local club/interclub events, but NOT in open race events.  Membership to encompass skills training and modified competitive activities at a club/interclub level only. Any general competition outside their own club environment will require an upgrade to the existing competitive license for this age group will require an upgrade to the existing competitive license for this age group

15 What needs to be done at Club level? (continued)  Membership cover includes a Junior Cycling License card to be issued by Cycling Australia, includes all benefits of the CA insurance package, including public liability and limited personal accident cover, inclusive of ambulance cover.  New members able to participate on racing and non-racing bikes provided the bikes comply with the law.  Junior membership affiliation forms and payments are to be forwarded to Rebecca Ellis at Cycling NSW for processing.  Cycling Australia will issue a Junior Development License and post to the member  NSW Family Membership Rebate package not available to riders signed up under this program  Reminder: Any Junior rider U9, U11, U13 who is currently or has previously held a standard Cycling Australia license is NOT eligible for this offer
