4 WHAT IS A COMMUNITY? A group of interacting people, living within a certain proximity Sharing a populated environment Sharing beliefs, resources and needs

5 CITIZENSHIP is the state of being a citizen of a particular social, political, national, or human resource community. Carries rights and responsibilities Citizens work to better their community Participate in communities and volunteer

7 VOLUNTEER Working on behalf of others without receiving payment Kindness act Selfless act Makes a person feel good about themselves

10 PROJECT On a piece of poster board draw an act of kindness as someone is volunteering their time to help out others. If you have volunteered in your life, draw a picture of what you did and how it made you feel. If you have never volunteered, draw a picture of something you would do or have seen another do.
