5 Who We Are Central Idea: Relationships can shape who are in different ways.

6 Concepts Form Function Responsibility The teacher questions/provocations to drive these inquiries: What makes me special? (form) How do we make friends? (function) How do we take care of our friends and family?(responsibility) How do relationships affect us? How do we help each other to become good people? How do I help others when they feel sad?

7 Assessment Assess the students’ prior knowledge and experience monitoring their achievement plan and refine teaching accordingly formative assessment – continuous to plan the next stage in teaching and learning summative assessment – Final assessment at the end of a unit of inquiry

8 English and Mother Tongue Languages Oral language: Listening and speaking Visual language: Viewing and presenting Written language: Reading and writing

9 Mathematics The mathematics continuum is presented in five strands. Number Pattern and Function Shape and Space Measurement Data Handling

10 Homework Homework is regarded as an essential part of the overall programme at TISA. We recognise the need for students to have time for play and relaxation but consider the skills of self-discipline and time-management worth acquiring at an early age. P3 students are expected to do approximately 20 minutes of homework per evening including; Home Reading

11 Home School Communication TISA recognises the importance of clear communication between home and school. Parents are partners in their child's learning. Two written reports Newsletters Parent teacher conferences Student led conferences / Open House (Celebration of Learning) Email Keep In Touch books (K.I.T )

12 Housekeeping Teaching Assistants Library PE- sports shoes (no crocs), change of t-shirt, hat and water bottle Birthdays Lunches Outdoor necessities – hats, sunscreen

13 No Nuts TISA is a nut free school. No peanut, tree nuts No products containing peanuts or tree nuts
